Obituary of Maude Woods Zwingle
Mrs. Maude Woods Zwingle, wife of
Rev.
C. M. Zwingle, who years ago was a prominent leader in
the denomination's foreign missions work, died in Nashville, Tenn.,
November 26. She had been ill many years and was bedfast much
of the time.
Her funeral was
held at the Edgefield
church, Nashville, of which she was a member, with the
pastor, Rev.
Charles R. Matlock in charge, assisted by Rev. E. R. Ramer
of McKenzie, Tenn.
Besides her
husband, Rev.
C. M. Zwingle, other immediate survivors include a daughter,
Mrs. Madelle McCoy, Bells, Tenn., two sons, Dr.
J. L. Zwingle, president of Park College, Kansas City,
Mo., and Earl Zwingle, San Francisco.
Mrs.
Zwingle was an active leader in many phases of church work while
her health permitted. She was an able Bible student and taught
Sunday school classes for many years and was a leader in foreign
mission work in local, presbyterial, synodical, and convention
levels. For a number of years she was editor of the Women's Department
in THE CUMBERLAND
PRESBYTERIAN.
