Many of our readers will at once recognize the above picture as that of one of the truest men they ever knew--a man who was a blessing to many homes, especially in Tennessee. Modest and retiring in disposition, he never pressed himself into prominence, yet his life was full of deeds of kindness. His son, Prof. P. A. Lyon, who has been for a years a successful public school principal in Nashville, has accepted the superintendency of the public schools of Murfreesboro, Tenn., and will move back to take the place of his father, whose loss is so sorely felt in that community.
