Son of Rev. John and Amy (Barnett) Wayman, was born near Lowden, Monroe County, Tenn., September 18, 1847, and passed away at his home in Albany, Mo., December 21, 1936, aged 89 years.

He came with his parents to Gentry County, Mo., at the age of 3 years and lived in and near Albany the remainder of his life. At the age of 18 years he accepted Christ as his personal Savior and united with the Liberty (Wayman) congregation of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church and later served as ruling elder.

He received a definite call from God to the ministry at the age of 21, but tried to substitute school teaching until he was thirty years of age. He was taken under the care of Platte Presbytery as a candidate for the ministry in the year 1877, was licensed in 1880, and ordained in 1892 by said presbytery at Flag Spring, Andrew County, Mo., and remained a member of said presbytery during his entire ministry.

On February 1, 1875, he was united in marriage to Rachel E. Jones, who passed away May 5, 1849. To this union were born seven children, two dying in childhood--Wm. B and Della J. Those living are: Charles E., Rolla C., of Albany, Mo.; Rev. W. O. of Muskogee, Okla; Mrs. Prudy Cravens and Mrs. Rachel E. Cottrill of Albany, Mo.

On February 10, 1916, he was united in marriage with Miss Ellen Van Hoozer, who made a very devoted companion. He leaves to mourn his death his aged companion, five children, with their companions, thirteen grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and many relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Wayman church, conducted by Rev. R. W. Furkin of Watson, Mo., assisted by Rev. W. C. McConnell of Cameron, Mo., Rev. W. D. Williams of Berming, Mo., and Rev. Jacobs of the Methodist church, Albany, Mo. His body was laid to rest in the church cemetery.

We profoundly mourn our loss, for Rev. Wayman has done a great work in Missouri and the presbytery that he lived so well. We extend to his widow, children, and relatives our sincere and heart-felt sympathy.
