The Com. appointed to confer with L. P. McAdoo, having twice failed to report were discontinued, and the pres. resolved to take upon the casre as a Com. of the whole.
The hour of nine oclock having arrived, the Pres. resolved itself into a Committee of the whole for the purpose of taking into Consideration the unchristian conduct of L. P. McAdoo. The Mod. called Bro. Barr to the chair. The Com. after going through the business ???? and presented the following, which was adopted. The Com. of the whole after have delibrations have agreed to enter ???? against L. P. McAdoo and ???? a general charge against him of unchristian conduct. ???? first, contemptous treatment of the pres. in absenting himself from its meetings for several years without any ???? excuse. ???? second: ???? conversation. ???? three: a violation of ordination vows. The witnesses to sustain these charges are the members of pres. John W. Smith, ? M. Johnston and J. E. Danforth. L. P. McAdoo having appeared and ???? his willingness to go into trial, pres. entered into an investigation of his case. When the charges were read to him, he plead not guilty. Moore, Alsup and Reppie were then called up as witnesses, H. D. Moore an affirmation stated that L. P. McAdoo had only attended pres. twice in seven years, with no excuse but his temprarl affairs. J. P. Alsup, on affirmation, stated that he had generally attended pres. and accounting to his recollection, he had not seen him at pres. but once. J. Reppie on affirmation stated that he had attended pres. four times in five years and had seen him but once. Pres. then decided that he was guilt of the first specification, and afater investigation, he acknowledged to be guilt of the other specifications. Where upn pres. ???? to bring him to repentance, but having failed to do so suspended him from the functions of the Gospel ministry. until he manifests repentance.

The Committee appointed to confer with Bro. L. P. McAdoo submitted the following report which was concurred in. Your Com. appointed at your last session to confer with L. P. McAdoo a suspended Minister and inquire into his conduct would report 1st That there was but one of the Com. present which was the undersigned. 2nd Tht he found that he has neither repented nor reformed since his suspension, but that there are other common fame reports against him which are worse than these for which he was suspended, Such as Intemperance v... He also stated that he never would make the acknowledgements that are required of him by Presbytery. Respectfully submitted J. P. Alsup - Com.

On motion the following preamble & resolution were adopted: Whereas L. P. McAdoo a suspended minister, has been visited by a Cm without any favorable effect; & he has not obeyed a notification to attend this meeting of Presb, and Presbytery has reliable evidence that he is doing no better and refuses to obey citation. Therefore resolved that said L. P. McAdoo be & he is hereby deposed from the holy ministry.

On motion an interlocutory session was called for and the case of Rev. L. P. McAdoo a suspended minister of the Presbytery, being considered was referred to a Committee consisting of Broth's Alsup, Montgomery, Smith and Holland. Interlocatory Session closed.

On motion an interlocatory session was called for an the Committee to whom was referred the case of Rev. L. P. McAdoo, reported as follows. Your Committee to whom was referred the case of Bro. McAdoo would report that they have carefully considered the case and believe there is not sufficient reasons to seclude him further from the functions of a minister of the Gospel; and would respectfuly recommend that he be restored as a Minister of the Springfield Presbytery. Respectfully J. P. Alsup, Chr.

On motion the report was concurred in.
