University Plaza Hotel The 2011 General Assembly was held at the University Plaza Hotel & Convention Center in Springfield, Missouri.
Introduction of Moderator Reverend Dwayne Tyus escorts Reverend Don Tabor to the podium. Former moderator, Reverend Boyce Wallace congratulates Reverend Don Tabor.
Passing of the Moderator's Cross Former moderator, Reverend Boyce Wallace, passes the Moderator's Cross to the newly elected Moderator Don Tabor.
Election of Vice Moderator The Reverend Joyce Merritt, Murfreesboro Presbytery was elected as vice moderator by acclamation. Elder Faris escorted Vice-Moderator Merritt to the podium. Reverend Merritt addressed the assembly briefly.
Recognition of Retiring Moderator The Stated Clerk, Michael Sharpe, recognized Ms. Beth Wallace for her assistance and support to the retiring Moderator, Reverend Boyce Wallace. He then presented Reverend Wallace with a replica of the Moderator's cross and a gavel representing the one used in the one hundred eightieth General Assembly.
Representatives from CPCA Pictured are Dr. Lynne Herring, Administrative Director of the CPCA and Dr. Charles Reese, Unified Committee on Theology and Social Concerns of the CPCA.
Commissioning Ceremony Reverend Edward Brogan introduced Chaplain Jason Chamber, LT USN, Arkansas Presbytery, who conducted the commissioning ceremony for Memphis Theological Seminary student Garrett Burns, Arkansas Presbytery. Mr. Burns was sworn in as an Ensign in the United States Navy. Reverend Brogan led the assembly in prayer for all personnel serving in the military.
Korean Dancers The Springfield Cumberland Presbyterian Korean Dancers performed several dances using traditional Korean dress and instruments.
Worship Director Reverend Andy McClung was the worship director for the 181st General Assembly held in Springfield, Missouri.
Holy Communion Holy Communion table at the Wednesday evening service at General Assembly.
Reverend Sharon Huey The Reverend Sharon Huey, Presbytery del Cristo, read the scripture, Colossians 1: 15-20 and Mark 6: 30-44, and delivered the sermon, "Blessed, Broken, and Given Away." The Reverend Andy McClung and the Reverend Sharon Huey officiated for the service of Holy Communion.
