We expect presbyteries and congregations to start with "a clean slate" approach for discernment. It is likely that since the three priority goals were born out of brainstorming of all Cumberland Presbyterians that one or more of these priority goals will also be "adopted" by presbyteries and congregations.

Our hope is that as presbyteries and congregations begin developing their own goals, that they will also work toward promoting the goals of the other judicatories. The "plan" for TOUCH THE FUTURE regarding these goals is that congregations and presbyteries will go through the discernment process and develop their own goals. We hope that both the congregations and presbyteries will promote the priority goals adopted by the General Assembly.

We hope that as congregations and presbyteries begin to seek ways to fund their goals (if this is what is needed) that they will contact Roger Ricketts to help with a capital campaign. We also hope that they will consider increasing their financial goals for the capital campaign to include moneys going from the local congregations to support presbyterial and General Assembly goals. It is in this way that all Cumberland Presbyterians can promote and support the priority goals of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

In the same way, we hope that there will be ministries established in a local congregation that General Assembly boards and agencies will want to be a part of with resources, financial or human. For this to happen, we must create a partnership between the judicatories.
