TOUCH THE FUTURE:
HOW CAN I GET DISCERNMENT STARTED IN MY CONGREGATION?

 What is Discernment?

What are the Presbyteries doing?

What are Churches doing?

How can I get started in my Presbytery?

How do Goals of Presbytery, a Church & GA Relate?

First, check the web page "What are Congregations Doing?" to see what other congregations are doing. It may be that congregations in your community have begun the discernment process and can give you a feel for what it's like.

Secondly, ask your pastor or session clerk. S/he may know if there have been any plans made toward choosing members to serve on a Task Force. If so, send the names of the Task Force members to the TTF director. If there has not been any work done as of yet, contact the TTF director. She can help you get started in the process of choosing a Vision Enabler to work with your congregation and can send you handbooks for your Task Force.

Thirdly, talk to those who have been trained in your presbytery as Vision Enablers. Click here to go to the list of their names, addresses, and email addresses. They may have some suggestions about how best to get things moving or to include you in the process. You may also want to think about becoming a Vision Enabler yourself especially if there is a need for Vision Enablers in your presbytery. If you are interested, contact the TTF director.

Thank you for your interest in TOUCH THE FUTURE in your congregation. Your interest in TOUCH THE FUTURE is a great asset for your congregation as it keeps you looking toward seeking God's will and reaching out to touch the future!
