CUMBERLAND PRESBYTERIAN CHURCHES
Site Builder Software

This software is free for the use of Cumberland presbyterian Churches only!

Computer Services of the Cumberland Presbyterian Center is pleased to offer any Cumberland Presbyterian congregation a small web site on our server. In order to facilitate the creation of church web pages, we have created Site Builder software which should run under all versions of Microsoft Windows. Keep in mind that this is the beta version of the software and report all bugs to Computer Services CPC.

What to do next:

Download a copy of our Site Builder software. This is beta test version 1.0 but you should be able to run it with the minimum of fuss. The easiest thing to do is to download the software package to a floppy disk (usually your A: or B: drive). The software is small and does not need to be decompressed. You can run it as soon as you download it. Don't try to run it from our server, it won't work.

Download Site Builder Now!

Running the Program:

Windows 95, 98, 2000, ME: Click START > RUN > A:\cpweb.exe
Windows 3.1, 3.11: Click FILES > RUN > A:\cpweb.exe
(be sure to replace A: with the correct drive letter and path for your system)

Instructions:

Only official spokespersons for their church should create a web site with Site Builder. In order to create your church page you will need to know the Church Number assigned to your congregation. The program cpweb.exe is really pretty simple to use. It creates a small web page based on the information that you put in the blanks. Required fields are indicated in blue. Any field that you do not change from the default value will not appear on your web page. Each church creating a page must provide an e-mail contact person. This e-mail address will be used on your page so that people interested in your congregation might contact you. Be sure to pick someone who is not likely to leave or change their e-mail address. Addresses on Yahoo or Hotmail or similar sites are discouraged.

The interface looks like this:

You can point and click or use the tab key to move from field to field. If you want to start over, click the RESET button. When you are done, click the DONE button. A file will be created in the same directory where the program is located. The name will be something like 0000.htm (where the 0000 is replaced by your church number). Simply e-mail this file to Computer Services. If you would rather send the file in on disk, mail it to: Computer Services CPC, 1978 Union Avenue, Memphis, Tennessee, 38104. We will put the file in place and link it to the Church Location Index. If you wish to change the information on your page it will be necessary to rerun the cpweb.exe program.
