...
Also, a petition from certain members of the Texas Synod, praying a division of said Synod, and the constitution of a new one, to be composed of Mount Prairie, Washita, and Bartholomew Presbyteries; the Synod to be known by the name of Washita, and that the first meeting be held at Woodlawn, Washita county, Ark., on Friday before the 4th Sabbath in October next, and that Rev. J. H. Black be the first Moderator, and A. Fortenbury be his alternate.

Your committee is informed that action was had at the last session of said Synods, and it ws the unaninous wish of said bodies that their prayers be granted by this Assembly.

But from circumstances unknown to your committee, the minutes of the aforesaid Synods have not come to hand; but, not withstanding the absence of said minutes, your committee recommend that their prayers be granted.

After having been recommitted with instructions, the above report was submitted and adopted.
