1884 - Formed from Colorado Presbytery (?) by Colorado Synod

The Buffalo Gap Presbytery is bounded as follows. Beginning at the point where T & P R.R. crosses the Brazos River, Thence west with said Road till opposite the Erath & Eastland county lines, Thence south with said county line. to the North East corner of Comanche county. Thence S.E. with the line of Comanche and Erath Counties to the S.E. corner of Comanche County. Thence West to the line of San Saba Presbytery. Thence Westerly with said line of said Presbytery. This is all in compliance with a grant of Colorado Synod.

1888 - Became part of Texas Synod (consolidation of Texas, Colorado, Brazos and Trinity Synods

1895 - Name changed to Abilene Presbytery
