1880
By the request of the Moderator, the opening sermon was preached by Rev. D. Y. Wyatt, from the 24th chapter and last clause of the 49th verse of Luke.

Members present - Ministers, D. Y. Wyatt.

Rev. D. Y.Wyatt, Stated Clerk of the Elyton Presbytery
The Stated Clerk made the following report, which, on motion, was adopted:
As per order of the last meeting of Presbytery, I submit my report of the State of Religion, which, from the data before me, I learn in some portion of our bounds is very good. Some of your congregations have had some gracious revivals, and several precious souls have been converted and added to the Church. While we should be thankful and encouraged for this manifestation of God's gracious presence, yet there are other portions of our Presbytery that have not enjoyed these revivals, and the churches seem to be in a cold and lifeless condition.
In view of this sad condition of so many of our congregations, I would recommend that most humble and earnest prayer be offered to the great Head of the Church, by all members of every church, for a general outpouring of God's holy Spirit. I would further recommend, that in order to have concert of action in our prayers for this important object, that we especially observe the third Sabbath in October next in carrying out the above named recommendation.
                                      Respectfully submitted,
                                                                  D. Y WYATT, S. C.
