Rev. B. O. Wolfe
Madison Presbytery

On October 4, 1962, the Lord, who knows what is best, called our beloved father, Rev. B. O. Wolfe, home to rest from his labors. Those left to mourn are his wife, Mrs. B. O. Wolfe, two sons, two daughters, eleven grandchilren, his sons-and daughters-in-law, two brothers, two sisters and many, many relatives and friends.

The funeral was conducted by Rev. O. T. Arnett and Rev. H. C. Walton in the First Cumberland Presbyterian Church of Jackson, Tennessee.

The following is a direct quotation from the service as given by Rev. O. T. Arnett which sums up the spirit of this great man who loved the Cumberland Presbyterian Church so deeply.

"Bro. Wolfe has been a useful minister in our church. He had one of those rare missionary spirits, a desire to see new churches organized and to give of his time, his spirit, his energy for their life. He has been instrumental in organizing several churches. While a member of Memphis Presbytery he organized and built the first unit of what is now the Highland Heights church and served as its first pastor.

He served on the Board of Missions and Evangelism of the church and while a member of that Board he was instrumental in organizing the First church in Detroit, Michigan, and from this church, there was developed other congregations in the area. He has served as pastor at Columbus, Mississippi, Gadsden, Alabama; and in Missouri and Tennessee. He was presently a member of Madison Presbytery and served as supply at Mason Wells.

"Bro. Wolfe has been a good minister, well versed in church law, a theologian, a believer in Cumberland Presbyterian doctrine, but never narrow in its application."
    --Elsie Wolfe Glass.
