WILEY.--Rev. B. F. Wiley,
pastor of the churches at Oakland, Pine Hill and Harrison, Oxford
Presbytery, died of typhoid malarial fever at the Cumberland Presbyterian
manse, Oakland, Miss., October 3, at 8:55 a.m. He was buried the
following morning at 10 o'clock, the funeral service taking place
from the church where he had preached for nearly seven years,
and being conducted by Rev. J. O. Davison, of Memphis, Tenn.,
his most intimate friend. He was buried in the new cemetery at
Oakland, according to his own instruction, given during his last
hours. At the same time his wife, who had been sick for several
days, with the same dread disease, before he was attacked, was
and is still critically ill. A sketch of the work and character
of Brother Wiley will be forwarded soon.
