The Special committee appointed to draft resolutions concerning the death of Rev. Daniel Weedin, reported the following preamble & resolutions, which were adopted.

Whereas, the Great Head of the chruch, has removed by death, from our midst one of our most able Presbyters and talented Ministers, Rev. Daniel Weedin, on the 4th of November 1853, from his field of labor, toil and usefulness on earth, we have no doubt, to his reward in heaven. Resolved

First; That in his death, this Presbytery recognize the voice of the Head of the Church, warning her ministers to be more faithful as stewards of the mysteries of God, and the Church to appreciate and sustain the means of Grace.

Second; That we have lost an able Minister, a sound divine, an intelligent Presbyter, a warm hearted and devoted brother.

Third; That we feel that God has greatly afflicted our Presbytery and Church in his removal, but by divine grace we will bow with humble submission unto the will of Him whose ways are past finding out.

Fourth; That we deeply sympathize with his afflicted family, and commend them to the care of that God, who is a "father to the fatherless and a judge of the widow."

Fifth; That this Presbytery have a funeral sermon preached on to-morrow in memory of the deceased, and that Bro. P. G. Rea, preach said sermon.

Sixth; Bro. P. G. Rea, in connection with these resolutions, prepare and forward to Bro. Logan for publication in the Mo. C. Presbyterian, a brief sketch of the life and times of Bro. Weedin, and also furnish a copy of the whole, to his afflicted widow.
