"An
opportunity was given for any one who might wish to do so to converse
with Presbytery regarding an internal call to the work of the
Holy Ministry. Whereupon, Sister Ethel Rudolph, of Oakland congregation,
Bro.
C. A. Yates, of Rozzell's Chapel, and Bro. S. P. Tucker,
of Milburn's Chapel, presented themselves. By motion and second
Sister Rudolph and Bro. Tucker were received as candidates for
the ministry, and Bro. Yates was reinstated as a Licentiate, as
he had at one time been such in this Presbytery."

"Report
of Committee on Literature and Theology
That at
this session of Presbytery we license Bros. M. F. French and S.
P. Tucker, the Rev. J. E. Edwards, presiding.
The
Rev. J. E. Edwards officiated in the licensure of Bro. French
and Bro. Tucker as called for in above report."

"Recess
over, the hour of the special order having arrived as called for
in the report of the Committee on Literature and Theology, to-wit:
the ordination of Licentiate S. P. Tucker. At the request
of Rev. W. S. Wright, who was to preach the sermon. Rev. S. F.
Lovett delivered the sermon from 1 Cor. 15:10, 'By the grace of
God I am what I am.' After the sermon Rev. J. V. King presided
and led the prayer and Rev. J. E. Edwards delivered the charge.
Licentiate S. P. Tucker was set apart to the whole work of the
Gospel ministry, and by motion the name of S. P. Tucker was added
to the roll of ordained ministers."

Rev. S. P. Tucker, 84, retired minister of Mayfield
Presbytery, died January 24 in the Baptist Hospital, Paducah,
Ky., as a result of an operation. Seven children survive. His
last sermon was preached in the pulpit of the Woodlawn church,
Paducah, where Rev.
E. R. Ladd is pastor.
