Rev. Adolphus Coleman Stone, Tenn.

Was born January 9, 1872, died October 26, 1939, age 67 years, nine months and seventeen days.

He was married December 1, 1895 to Martha Matilda Gregory, who survives him. To this union were born six children, three of whom died in infancy. Two daughters, Mrs. Lester Kittrell and Miss Clara Stone; one son, Isham Stone; three sisters, Miss Maggie Stone, Mrs. Will Smith and Mrs. Willie Brockett; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild survive him.

He was converted in 1903, and united with the Cumberland Presbyterian Church at Sanderson. He was ordained a minister by his presbytery thirty years ago, and during his active ministerial life many, many, lost souls were led to Christ by his spiritual influence.

He served as pastor of the following congregations: Sanderson, Russell Hill, Red Boiling Springs, Grant, Cedar Bluff, Providence, Cave Springs, Trinity, Ruth's Chapel, Flat Creek, Haydenburg, and Ellis Chapel. The influence of his labor in these churches will live on until the dawn of a better day.

Brother Stone had been in failing health for a number of years.
