RUDOLPH.--Departed this life February, 1908, Rev. William Donnell Rudolph. The Rev. W. D. Rudolph was born near Clarksville, Tenn., April 22, 1841; moved with his parents to McCracken County, Kentucky, when small; professed religion at New Hope camp ground, and joined the Cumberland Presbyterian Church in August, 1850; moved with his parents to Izard County, Arkansas, in 1859, and joined Big Spring Church the same year, also placed himself under the care of White River Presbytery as a probationer for the ministry in 1859. The same year White River Presbytery was divided, creating Mount Olive Presbytery, with which his lot was cast, and which licensed and ordained him, dates not known. Brother Rudolph's early ministry was attended with reasonable success, but later, with failing health, he seemed to lose to some extent the fire and enthusiasm characteristic of his earlier life. He was an invalid for several years prior to his death. He was twice married. By his first marriage he leaves one son, there being no issue to the last marriage. He leaves one son and a wife to mourn his absence; but while they mourn, we trust he rejoices in all that saved and better life means. We would therefore say, Sleep on, thou hero; the war is over; your work is done, and done as well as your environments would admit of; the sword is sheathed; life's dusty mantle laid away; receive now the robe, the crown and the scepter.
