Death Claims A. D. Rudolph

Rev. Dr. Andrew D. Rudolph, for 53 years a minister in the church, died at Dickson, Tennessee, December 10. He was 80.

A brief service was held in Dickson and the main services were held in the Margaret Hank Memorial church, Paducah, Kentucky, with Rev. E. Thach Shauf officiating. Burial was in Paducah. His wife preceded him in death early in 1963. He is survived by one son, Alton Dual Rudolph of Oxford, Ohio.

Two of his cousins are ministers in the church, Rev. Allie D. Rudolph of West Paducah, Ky., and Rev. Martin Rudolph of Cullman, Alabama. Also a nephew is a minister in the church; Rev. T. V. Warnick, Oak Ridge, Tennessee.

He had been pastor of the Dickson church since 1955 and had been in declining health for several years.

Born in Paducah in 1884, Dr. Rudolph received his education at Bethel College and received the B.D. Degree from the Cumberland Presbyterian Seminary in 1913. The honorary Doctor of Divinity Degree was conferred on him by Bethel College in 1958.

He was ordained in 1911 by Mayfield Presbytery with the ordination sermon being delivered by the late Rev. F. A. Brown.

Dr. Rudolph had held pastorates in many areas of the denomination during his long ministry. He had served churches in Paducah, Fulton, Owensboro, Bowling Green, all in Kentucky; Birmingham, Alabama; Dallas; Russellville, Ark.; Nashville, Tenn.; and the church at Dickson where he also earlier served the Charlotte church.

He has served many years on boards and agencies of the church. Most of his years were spent serving on the Board of Education. His last official tenure for the General Assembly was on the Judiciary Committee, the tenure of which he concluded in 1962.
