DIED--July 31, 1875, at his residence in Putnam county, Tennessee, Rev. John A. Ritchie; aged thirty-nine years, eight months, and nineteen days.

Bro. Ritchie was born January 13, 1836, professed religion October 7, 1856, and joined the Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Was afterwards taken under the care of the Sparta Presbytery, and licensed to preach. But God has called him from his labors on earth to reap his reward in heaven. "The Lord gave and the Lord hath taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord."
