Daniel Patton

1799 - 1893

Cumberland Presbyterian Minister

Rev. Daniel Patton, a venerable father in our Cumberland Presbyterian ministry has entered into rest. He died at the residence of his son, Geo. E. Patton, 621 Olive street, Kansas City, Mo., Friday night, December 1. Had he lived until January 8, 1894, he would have been ninety-five years old. He was among the pioneer preachers in Missouri, and his ministry was an important factor in building up churches and saving souls in the fields where he labored. He was probably the oldest minister in our denomination. We hope to present a full sketch of his life and labors in an early issue of the CUMBERLAND PRESBYTERIAN. His body was laid to rest in the Shady Grove Cemetery, Clay county, Mo., in the vicinity of his old home.
