Rev. G. C. Newton, 71, former pastor of the First Cumberland Presbyterian church of Indianapolis, Indiana, died September 7 in the hospital of the Indiana State Soldiers' Home, Lafayette, Indiana. Burial was in Washington Park Cemetery in Indianapolis.

Services were conducted by Rev. Eugene Leslie of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Indianapolis and Chaplain Gillum of the Soldiers' Home.
