Wesley Young Lindsey

Cumberland Presbyterian Minister

1850 - 1904

LINDSEY.--Rev. W. Y. Lindsey was born September 1, 1850, died August 5, 1904, aged 53 years, 11 months, and four days. Brother Lindsey was a faithful minister in the Cumberland Presbyterian Church for about 30 years and did valiant service in Richland Presbytery, now Columbia Presbytery, Tennessee, until he came west in 1899, since that time he has been faithful to his church, preaching the "whosoever will" gospel in schoolhouses, sheds or any where he could get the people together. Brother Lindsey was always faithful to his church, riding horseback sometimes 100 miles to attend the meeting of presbytery. A true man, a good preacher, a devoted husband and loving father has gone to his reward. His funeral was conducted by the writer at Roff and his body laid to rest in the Roff Cemetery. May God's richest blessings be with his wife and children that are left to mourn their loss.--G. P. Howard.
