The Committee, appointed by Richland Presbytery, reported the following on the death of Rev. A. M. Kerr:

It is with deep emotion the Presbytery received the announcement of the sudden death of Rev. A. M. Kerr, March 23, 1872, at the residence of Bro. _____ Hancock, while on his way to take his place as a member of this body. Although anticipated sometime since, yet it comes with crushing force, And,

Whereas, The deceased had been a member of this Presbytery from the time of his joining it, until his death, during which time he occupied many important positions as Moderator, Treasurer, Clerk, etc., and filled the same with equal honor to himself and the Presbytery; therefore, be it

Resolved, 1, That, in the death of Bro. Kerr, we bow submissively and recognize the hand of a kind and loving Father whose ways are past finding out, and in whose dealings with the children of men, he "doeth all things well."

Resolved, 2. That, in the death of Rev. A. M. Kerr, this Presbytery has sustained the loss of a zealous, faithful, and worthy member, and the Church a minister whose aim was to make full proof of his ministry. He was a watchman upon the walls of Zion, and one whose energy was untiring in the training of the young, especially young men for the ministry. He was a Christian, just and good, of exalted mind, and labored unceasingly to establish peace, harmony, and good will, among men. He was a citizen whose love and regard for virtue accompanied him in all the walks of life. As a husband, father, and friend, he was kind, affectionate, and true.

Resolved, 3. That we tender our heart-felt condolence to his sorrowing family, relations, and friends; and we express our warmest sympathies with them in their sad bereavement, and encourage them to find consolation in the blessed truth, that our departed brother sleeps in Jesus, and with the angelic hosts beckons us to meet him on the shores of eternal glory.

Resolved, 4. That a copy of these resolutions be furnished to the sorrowing family; that they be entered upon the minutes of this Presbytery, and a copy be sent to the BANNER OF PEACE for publication.
