GROVES.--Rev. A. A. Groves was born February 16, 1856, near Milford, Texas, and died August 1, 1905, in his home at Santa Anna, Texas. He professed faith in Christ and united with the Cumberland Presbyterian Church in the thirteenth year of his age. He was ordained by Pease River Presbytery twenty years later. Because of family and financial interests Brother Groves had not done regular work for several years, but had just made the last payment on a good farm with the intention of giving full time to the ministry, when the end came. It is often true with many of our cherished plans! He realized at the first of his brief illness that life would soon close here, but said. "Don't weep for me; it is well over there." He leaves a wife, two grown daughters and three sons, the youngest of whom is fifteen. The funeral was conducted by the writer, and the burial under the auspices of the Masonic fraternity. May God's grace console the disconsolate.
