John Frizzell

1829 - 1894

Cumberland Presbyterian Elder

Resolution of Respect and Sympathy

Rev. J. M. Hubbert, D.D., offered the following resolution, which was adopted:

It is with profound sorrow that this General Assembly records the fact that, since its last meeting, Ruling Elder John Frizzell, of Nashville, Tenn., has been called hence by death. For ten consecutive years he held the office of Stated Clerk of this body; previously to this term of office he had served as the General Assembly's Engrossing Clerk at two of its meetings; he had also been Moderator of the General Assembly; and he had faithfully served the Cumberland Presbyterian Church in many other positions of high trust and responsibility. In view of his excellent Christian character and his loyal devotion and eminent usefulness to his Church,

Resolved, That this General Assembly honors and cherishes his memory, and extends sympathy to his bereaved family, tot he members of which the Stated Clerk is directed to transmit a copy of this resolution.
