Rev. W. D. Eidson, Alabama
On March 31 God in his infinite wisdom called home the spirit of the Rev. W. D. Eidson, who had been a member of Cullman Presbytery for more than 35 years.
Due to ill health Brother Eidson had been retired from active duty for some time. His work in Cullman Presbytery will stand out as a memorial to him. His delight was to encourage and help younger preachers in their ministry.
During his life he pastored most of the churches in his presbytery and was loved and appreciated by all who knew him. He will be greatly missed in his home, community, and throughout the Presbytery.
Since he will be so greatly missed by his family, his many friends, his church, and the presbytery he served so faithfully so long.
Therefore be it resolved:
That we bow in humble submission to the will of God and say, "The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away, Blessed be the name of the Lord;"
That Cullman Presbytery express to the wife and family of Brother Eidson our sincere sympathy in his passing and commend to them a greater faith in the God whom he so faithfully served; Be it further resolved:
That a copy of this resolution be sent to the widow of Brother Eidson, a copy be spread on the Minutes of Cullman Presbytery, and a copy sent to THE CUMBERLAND PRESBYTERIAN.
Given by order of Cullman Presbytery in session with the Allgood congregation, April 1, 1954.
Special committee: Rev. R. H. Ridgeway, Rev. Ray Edwards, Rev.
T. R. Tadlock, moderator; Elder Vernon H. Baily, Stated Clerk.
