This indenture made this the 6th day of June in the year of our Lord one Thousand Eight hundred and Thirty Six between Guston Williams of the County of Stewart and State of Tennessee of the one part and the Union Valley Society a branch of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church of the State of Tennessee and County above mentioned of the other part, witnesseth that whereas the said Guston Williams for the spread of the gospel and the benefit of the church doth deed to the above named Society forever a certain peace [sic] of ground containing Two Acres more or less lying in the County and State aforesaid on Wells Creek west of the junction of the east fork and the main wells creek beginning at a Spanish Oak on the bank of Wells Creek thence running north west to a black gum on the bank of Gilberts branch running thence with the branch to the mouth thence up Wells Creek to the beginning and do by these presents give and grant to the Said Society forever the above mentioned tract of land in the County and State aforesaid to have and to hold to the said Society forever and I the Said Guston Williams covenant agree to and with the said Society that I do hereby warrant and defend the above named land and premises and every part thereof against my heirs or assigns against all and every person or persons whatever I do hereby warrant and forever defend the right of said land to the said Society in witness whereof the said Guston Williams hath hereunto put his hand and fixed his seal the day and year above written.                Henry G. Personally appeared before me J. S. Lee Clerk of the County Court of said County William Boone subscribing witness to the foregoing deed who being first duly sworn deposed and said that he was personally acquainted with Henry G. Williams the foregoing Bargainor and that he acknowledged in his presents that he executed the said deed for the purposes therein contained. Witness my hand at office the 23 Day of March 1872    J. Registers Office March the 23rd day 2 ock P.M. 1872. Then was the foregoing Deed and certificate received and noted in Note Book No. 1 Page 7 and recorded the same date in Book No. 1 Page 105.     C. S. Humphreys, Reg.
