Rev. W. H.
Redman speaks in interest of Midway church. Motion that Midway
be dropped from the roll of Presbytery and that our mission interest
be spent in other fields. Motion seconded. Motion to table the
previous motion. Motion carried. Motion to appoint a committee
of three of which Mr. O. C.
Armitage is the chairman to investigate the Midway property and
to find what progress has been made. Motion carried. Rev. Gourley
and Mr. Kyle Burkey were appointed on the committee.

1960
Report of
the Board of Missions and Evangelism.
We recommend
that a commission shall be appointed by this presbytery to dispose
of the Midway church property in the best way, and, if it can
be sold, we recommend that the proceeds shall go to the Board
of Missions.
A motion was made that the Board of
Missions and Evangelism and C. C. Armitage compose a commission
to dispose of the Midway Church property. The motion carried.

Report of
the Board of Missions and Evangelism.
In accordance
with the presbyterial directive to dispose of the church building
at Midway, we have been in contact with Midway Ruritan Club which
we have authorized to tear down the building. We have instructed
them to use the bell and piano in the club or community.

Report of
the Presbyterial Board of Missions and Evangelism of the Cumberland
Presbyterian Church of the East Tennessee Presbytery.
We
have been working on the Midway Church property. We are in the
process of getting the State to condemn the building. The Ruritan
Community Club will demolish the old building as soon as we get
it condemned.

Communications
A request for permission to move a monument at Midway,
erected in memory of Veterans, from present location to the school
ground. Motion that, if the presbytery has any jurisdiction over
the Midway Cumberland Presbyterian Church property, permission
be granted to Midway Ruritan Club to move the monument as requested,
second and passed.
