Organized October 17, 1875, with 16 charter members. Elders included Sarchel Cooper Wolfskill and Reverend N. F. Hilderbrand (who had been previously ordained in Missouri). S. C. Wolfskill, Henry Saling, D. P. Edwards, Daniel Robinson and Dr. S. K. Baker served on the Board of Trustees.

1876
Congregations represented: Winters, represented by Elder A. F. Hildebrand - received upon petition and the name of Bro. Hildebrand ordered recorded.
Reports from Ministers and congregations being called for. Rev. T. M. Johnston reported: that the State of Religion in his work was favorable. Had Organized a congregation at Winters of Sixteen members, with seven additions since. Had had precious revivals at Monticello and Winters, and the churches had been greatly built-up, and strengthened. Regretted that the congregations were unable to engage as much as is to be desired in Sabbath Schools, and Prayer meetings. Was building a church at Winters.
