The Board of Stewardship has four full-time staff persons, three field staff persons and a volunteer board of eleven persons representing the Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Meet the staff and learn a little bit about them.

Elinor has been with the Board of Stewardship since January 1990. She is an ordained minister in the Cumberland Presbyterian Church and is a member of West Tennessee Presbytery. She graduated from Bethel College and Memphis Theological Seminary.
Elinor grew up in Tampa, Florida where her parents, and two brothers (and their families) still live. Elinor is married to Mark Brown, also a minister, and they have a daughter, Sydney, who is twenty and is a junior at Lyon College, Batesville, Arkansas. They live in Memphis, Tennessee.

Janie joined the staff of the Board of Stewardship in January 1999. She came to us from the Cumberland Presbyterian Resource Center where she had worked since 1995. Before this, Janie worked for Hartford Insurance Company for eleven years and other various jobs while her husband was in the pastorate. Janie is a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church of Germantown. Janie attended Bethel from 1961-63.
Janie is married to George Estes who works for the Board of Missions of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church. They have four grown children. Janie and George live in Germantown, Tennessee.

Mark joined the Board of Stewardship staff in his current position in July 2008 coming from a position as a realtor and life and health insurance independant agent. He has had work experience in management experience in the medical and retail fields. He graduated from the University of Tennessee with a major in marketing.
Mark has been a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church of Germantown since 1996. He has been married to Brenda for 11 years and they live in Cordova, Tennessee. Mark has a daughter, Elizabeth, and step-children Jeff and Alisa.
Robert Heflin--Executive Secretary

Robert joined the Board of Stewardship staff as Coordinator of Benefits in December 2003 coming from the Hohenwald Cumberland Presbyterian Church where he was co-pastor with his wife Donna. Robert worked for the Board of Stewardship on a part-time basis as Office Assistant while he was in seminary at Memphis Theological Seminary. Robert has held his current position as Executive Secretary since fall of 2007. Robert did his undergraduate work at the University of Central Oklahoma. Robert is an ordained minister in the Cumberland Presbyterian Church and is a member of Columbia Presbytery.
Robert grew up in Crescent, Oklahoma. Robert's parents now live in Edmond, Oklahoma and attend the Stonegate Church. Robert and Donna have two daughters, Laura, who is in high school, and Leanah, in elementary school. They live in Bartlett, Tennessee.

Resources and Presentations for Planned Giving in the Presbyteries
of East Tennessee and Tennessee-Georgia areas
Carolyn began as the Planned Giving Coordinator for the board in the Presbyteries of East Tennessee and Tennessee-Georgia in February of 2000.
Carolyn is a member, elder and session clerk of the Cedar Hill Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Greeneville, Tennessee. She served as the denomination's CPW President in 1995 and now serves on the board of trustees for the Cumberland Presbyterian Children's Home.
Carolyn retired in April of 2002 as Senior Secretary of the UT Agricultural Extension Service after working there for 32 1/2 years. Carolyn and her husband Richard have two daughters, Sarah Laws and Scarlett Renner and one grandson Joshua Renner. They all reside in Greeneville.

Synod area
Dara has recently joined the field staff for the Board of Stewardship. She became the Planned Giving Coordinator in Tennessee Synod beginning March 2003.
Dara has been a member of the Hillsboro Cumberland Presbyterian Church since the age of 9 years. She attended church camps, served in all offices of the local and presbyterial youth fellowship, served as camp counselor and then as camp director for many years, and youth director at all levels. She is an ordained elder and served as an officer in the Cumberland Presbyterian Women in Ministry in the Manchester Church. Dara now serves on the denominational board of The Cumberland Presbyterian magazine where she is the vice chair.
Dara is a retired teacher and worked at Bethel College as a teacher and did financial aid there in Development and Endowments.

Gaye has recently joined the field staff for the Board of Stewardship. She became the Planned Giving Coordinator in Arkansas, Missouri, Oklahoma and Texas beginning March 2007.
Gaye is very active in the Calico Rock Church with her husband, Rev. Wayne Wood.
