Christian stewardship, according to The Confession of Faith for Cumberland Presbyterians, "acknowledges that all of life and creation is a trust from God, to be used for God's glory and service." The Confession goes on to state that "God gives to the human family a variety of gifts, including gifts to each person for which each person has responsibility" and that "God desires that each person engage in the mutual sharing of these gifts so that all may be enriched."
As one who has shared your income with the Church during your lifetime, would you not want to share some of what you have accumulated at the time of your death?
As we are in the beginning of the twenty-first century since the birth of our Lord, the Cumberland Presbyterian Church looks toward its second century of ministry and faces greater opportunities for service; and at the same time, it is faced with increasing costs in all areas and in all types of its ministries. When you remember the Church in your will, those who follow you will benefit from your thoughtfulness and concern just as we have benefitted from those who preceded us.
