There are now an equivalent of 15 Cumberland Presbyterian Church recipients of the full benefit of $260 per month (increased from $240 on April 1, 2002). Eleven of those are stateside clergy persons and four are from Cauca Valley Presbytery in Colombia, South America.
There are 5 participants from the Cumberland Presbyterian Church of America who receive monthly payments.
Notification of the Board of Stewardship that there are persons in need of aid is the responsibility of each presbytery. Annually, the appointed presbyterial committee should review the status of retired ministers and surviving spouses of ministers to determine their need.
