WOMEN'S MINISTRY
PROJECTS & OFFERINGS

Each year the Women’s Ministry Convention selects one or more projects submitted by denominational teams, agencies or other judiatories throughout the church to support financially in the coming year. The 2010-2010 projects are:

Project # 1 – Construction of a Chapel in Cucurrupi
Funds given to this project will help build a durable, cement chapel for an established congregation in Cucurrupi, Colombia, a town on the San Juan River. This structure will provide much needed space for Sunday school, worship, and social programs. In addition, the facilities will provide a suitable location for medical mission teams from Cauca Valley Presbytery as well as evangelistic ministries from nearby CP churches. Members of the congregation have raised $3,000 for the foundation work and Women’s Ministry has the opportunity to provide the remaining $12,000 to finish this important work. Make your checks payable to the Missions Ministry Team and designate for “Cucurrupi Chapel” #34204.

2011 Convention Offering – Publication and Translation Fund for CP Resource
The CP Church is a global denomination with various cultures, languages and nationalities represented in its membership. However, most of the publications and resources unique to Cumberland Presbyterians are written by persons who reside in a predominately Anglo culture, and whose first language is English. More and more CPs whose primary language is not English have requested resources in their native language. This project will establish a special ministry fund to enable the translation of Cumberland Presbyterian resources from English into other languages and the publication of new resources in languages other than English. Make your checks payable to the Missions Ministry Team and designate for “Publication and Translation Fund” #34366.

CP Women's Ministry/Beverly St. John Bethel College Scholarship Endowment
This endowment was established in 1976, in honor of Beverly St. John for service given by her to the Cumberland Presbyterian Women. A scholarship is to be awarded annually by Bethel University to a young woman going into full time Christian service. Any woman who is planning to enter the ordained Christian ministry, the field of Christian education, the area of music ministry and other related fields will be eligible for the scholarship of $2,000. All Contributions should be mailed to the Missions Ministry Team, 8207 Traditional Place, Cordova, TN 38016-7414. Please make check payable to the Missions Ministry Team and designate for the “CP Women’s Ministry Bethel University Scholarship Endowment”.

WOMEN'S LEADERSHIP FUND
This endowment provides leadership development opportunities for women throughout the denomination. Workshops, retreats, seminars, and conferences on both regional and denominational levels help to achieve the goals of leadership development. Part of this endowment is held in trust, and only the earnings may be used. This will insure leader development funds for current use as well as for future generations.  All Contributions should be mailed to the Missions Ministry Team, 8207 Traditional Place, Cordova, TN 38016-7414. Please make check payable to the Missions Ministry TEam and designate for the Women's Ministry Leadership Fund.

CORNELIA SWAIN WOMEN'S MINISTRY ENDOWMENT FUND
This endowment was established in 1996 to fund much-needed financial resources for women's ministry. This fund was created to also recognize the works of faith and the labor of love of Cornelia Swain, who served in women's ministry from May 1, 1977 until December 2002.  All Contributions should be mailed to the Missions Ministry Team, 8207 Traditional Place, Cordova, TN 38016-7414. Please make check payable to the Missions Ministry Team and designate for the Cornelia Swain Endowment Fund.
