Hands Together — One in Christ

Women from across the denomination came together in Hot Springs, Arkansas for the 2007 Women's Ministry Convention for worship, study, mission, and fellowship. The regions in Arkansan (White River, Mountain Valley and Hands of Harvest) rolled out the welcome mat and met us with warm Arkansas hospitality.

Highlights were the keynote address by Weiser Duvall and Bible Study by Lisa Scott. Convention was graced with beautiful music by Joanna Chambers, Elaine York and Martha Chambers. We got to learn some new ways of emphasizing Fellowship of the Least Coin and the Endowment Membership Program. Over 150 women were recognized as having received a Heart Award during the last year. The Regional Banners were beautiful as usual. Over 30 folks traveled to Perryville, AR to visit the Heifer Ranch and learn ways in which their home churches can help to alleviate poverty and hunger around the world. On Tuesday afternoon women explored how to join hands with folks across the generations and with other cultures. We also learned some ways in which we can do our part in protecting the environment. Minister's wives met together for support and conversation and one group of women made small gifts to send with Beth Wallace back to Colombia, SA and also back to Japan with the Japanese delegation.
