English Ministry Opportunity in China Rescheduled for Summer 2010
The Missions Committee of the Chinese church in San Francisco decided to postpone the Jin Ping trip to next summer (2010) because of low participation. The economy may be the chief factor. Hopefully, we will be able to recruit enough trainers (at least 8) next year when the economy improves.
The summer teaching project of Cumberland International (CI) is a special study program designed for English teachers at the mountain region of Yunnan Province of China. Under the invitation of China's Foreign Ministry and the local government, the training team will conduct an eight-day conversational English workshop for some local English teachers. The training team will also help raise funds to provide scholarships for these teachers to attend the training in one of the local middle schools. We welcome born again Christians who have the spiritual desire to serve the teachers in China.
CI will provide curriculum and orientation to trainers, and pair up native English speakers with some bilingual trainers from the Chinese Church. Adequate accommodations will be in a local hotel. The local teachers are friendly and eager to build relationships with the trainers. It will be a fun-filled and rewarding experience for all.
