Band-Aids and Hugs

The Cumberland Presbyterian Church is blessed to have a missionary family living and serving in Kampala, Uganda.  Kenneth and Delight Hopson, along with their three children (Kaleb, Austin, and Emilee Grace) share their love of Jesus with Ugandans everyday.  Kenneth and Delight serve also with World Gospel Mission, and Kenneth manages a Christian printing press.  This resource developed from an experience they had with a little girl in Uganda who was severely burned.  Because of an anonymous donation from a CP in the States, the Hopson’s were able to help this little girl get life-saving medical attention following a burn accident.  May God use Band-Aids & Hugs to bring healing, hope, and hugs to many more Ugandan children. 

Band-Aids & Hugs is designed for use during Vacation Bible School with preschool through elementary aged children.  Each session is similar to a Children’s Message.  Each one is about 10 minutes in length.  Following the conversation, an offering is to be received.  Please send your offering to the Board of Missions (1978 Union Avenue, Memphis, TN  38104).  Be sure to post your total offering so the children will know how much their efforts have made a difference.

If you do not use this resource during VBS, then please find another setting such as Sunday school, Wednesday evening groups, or use it as a series of Pastor’s sermons/messages.  You can also involve your entire congregation in the giving portion of this emphasis.
