World Mission Day — May 15
Re-gifting (REE-gift-ing)
(v. To give as a gift something that one received as a gift.
n. regifter.)
Regift (and the noun regifter) originated in the mid-90s on the TV show Seinfeld. Regift appeared during the 6th season in the episode titled The Label Maker, which first aired on January 19, 1995. Regift has since become an everyday word. A Google search will turn up over 13,000 hits on the word! “Regifter” was first coined by Elaine in response to a gift she had given to Tim Whatley for some free dental work he did for her.
Click on the clicks below for short stories, a bible study and a children’s sermon that bring to life how God continues to bless our lives and the ways in which we in turn can share those blessings with others. It is our hope that through these materials, your congregation might be inspired and challenged anew to mission and sharing God’s gifts to you with others. We also want to encourage you to identify ways that regifting is demonstrated in the life of your congregation and find ways to highlight them during the March of Missions season.
