Casa de Fe y Alabanza - Malden, Massachusetts
This new work in the Great Boston area is led by Milton Ortiz, a tent-making pastor who was ordained by East Tennessee Presbytery after his completion of PAS studies in 2002. Milton also completed his MA degree from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. Casa de Fe y Alabanza (House of Faith and Praise) began in July 1999 and meets in facilities of a historic American Baptist Church in Malden. Their relationship with the pastor, congregation, and area ABC congregations is exceptional. Rev. Ortiz has helped organize a Hispanic Community Council for the area, and recently the congregation has started a small music school providing instruction for a variety of instruments at a modest price. This congregation has a consistent core group of about 30 and receives modest program subsidy this year.
