EvangelismEvangelism Focus

Among the momentous decisions from this year’s General Assembly were some that might have slipped under the radar. They had to do with a projected five-year focus on evangelism for the denomination, specifically emphasizing “leading congregations in how to do personal evangelism that is appropriate to their cultural context.” Recommendations from retiring moderator Rev. Don Hubbard and a commissioner’s resolution from Rev. Don Winn gave impetus to the new priority focus. There is an article in the upcoming August issue of the Missionary Messenger about this Evangelism focus. There is also a new web page being developed specifically focused on Evangelism. The Board of Missions is actively pulling together Evangelism resources already available and working toward developing new ones for churches and presbyteries to use. And lastly, there are plans in the works for a denomination-wide "Focus on Evangelism Network." >>Read More<<
