By making a contribution of $150 to one of the endowments of the Board of Christian Education, a person may become a Golden Patron of Christian Education. Additionally, an individual or a group (congregation, Sunday school class, CPW, men's fellowship) may confer this honor on someone who has served with distinction. The honor may also be conferred posthumously. To qualify for the Golden Patron award, the person honored must have been active for fifty (50) years in the educational work of the church. It is not necessary that all the years were spent in the Cumberland Presbyterian Church. An attractive certificate is awarded by the Board of Christian Education to each Golden Patron of Christian Education.
