Planning Tips for May C. E. Ministry Team

1. Checking In

Give opportunity for persons to share with each other what is going on in their lives. Although this will not take long, it is an important beginning point.

2. Devotional Thoughts and Prayer

3. Reviewing Agenda

Give everyone an opportunity to add items to the agenda.

4. Updating on Ongoing Ministries

Sunday School

Children/Jr. High/Sr. High Youth Groups

Small Groups/Other Classes

(There may not be anything new here, but it’s always helpful to have it before the group.)

5. Report from the Session

Is there any communication from the session?

6. VBS

Is everything set in terms of leaders, curriculum, etc.?

What additional promotion can you do to your congregation and community?

7. Youth Conference Experiences

Keep these opportunities before your church. CPYC is scheduled for July 7 -12. The Presbyterian Youth Triennium is scheduled for July 17-22. Information has been sent to your congregation. Check also at http://www.cumberland.org/bce/youth.html.

8. Camping Ministry

What do you need to do to promote presbyterial camps to your children/youth? Do you

           need to facilitate transportation?

9. Getting Started on a New C. E. Year

Your denominational Board of Christian Education has mailed a Sunday School packet to your congregation. You may wish to consult it as you make plans for the 2007-2008 church school year.

10. Setting Date for the Next Meeting

These are just some hints for an agenda. Make it yours!
