Rev. F. D.
Piner - minister absent
"A letter was received from Bro. F. D. Piner, which was read and referred to a committee consisting of J. N. Roach, A. A. Jutice & John Simons."
"The committee to whom as referred the letter of Bro.
F. D. Piner reports that the genius of our church government as
well as the Spirit and of our discipline unquestionably give the
Presbytery the right and make it its duty to pursue the course
taken at our last session relative to him. The committee therefore
think Presbytery cannot admit the right of Bro. F. D. Piner to
indirectly pass a censure upon the vote in his case taken at our
last Presbytery. The committee also think that his reasons for
his continued abasence are not such as to satisfy the mind of
Presbytery, We therefore recommend that he be required to appear
before Presbytery in person or by letter at the next session and
at least remove the imputation of illegality in our proceedings
in his case at last session of Presbytery & that the stated
clerk be required to send him a copy of these proceedings notifying
him of the time and place of the setting of the next session of
Presbytery.
