I attended the burial service of Rev. Daniel Liles, of this place, yesterday evening. Not knowing whether you had received the intelligence of his death or not, I thought I would send it. He came to death, about four miles south of Paris, by being knocked from a tressel by the southbound train. He was insane, and no longer his wonted self. He was a minister of considerable usefulness.

The committee on Deceased Brethren submitted their report which on motion was adopted and is as follows:

We your Committee on Deceased Brethren report that since our last meeting, Rev. Daniel Liles has in the providence of God an all wise Rules been taken from his labour in the church militant to his reward in the church Triumphant. Therefore

Resolved 1st. That in his death we as a Presbytery have lost a good councellor and devoted minister and a man of much usefulness in the Church so long as his reason remained unimpaired.

Resolved 2nd. That we hereby express our sympathy with his bereaved family and relatives and that a copy of these Resolutions be forwarded to his family by the Clerk.
