Obiturary - Martha Emily Day Irby
Mrs. M. E. Irby departed this life Dec. 19, 1933, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. P. M. Phillips, with whom she had made her home for ten years. She was the sister of Rev. R. B. and J. H. Day. She leaves five sons and three daughters: W. E. Irby, Sulphur Bluff; W. G. Irby and Mrs. Jack Gist, Winnsboro; Rev. J. C. Irby and Mrs. R. E. Reed, Newsom; J. D. Irby, Pleasant Hill; E. B. Irby and Mrs. P. M. Phillips, Pine Hill community; two sisters and one brother, M. P. Day, Taft, Calif.; Mrs. M. A. Horton, Ovalo, Texas; Mrs. George Henley, Ardmore, Okla. She had been almost helpless for 14 months. She was born Aug. 18, 1856, being 77 years old at the time of her death. Services were conducted by Rev. P. G. Hightower and Rev. Dennis, with burial in the Pleasant Grove [sic: Hill] cemetery by the side of her husband, P. A. Irby.
