CONCLUDES 44-YEAR MINISTRY--Rev. Charles A. Galloway, 77, who died at his Waynesboro, Tenn., home May 2 concluded a 44-year ministry in the Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

Funeral services were conducted the following day with Rev. James W. Elder officiating, assisted by Rev. Mace Jett Jr., Waynesboro, pastor. Burial was in a local cemetery.

His death came as a result of a heart attack. On the day before he had spent much time in preparation for his sermon to have been given at the Olive Hill, Tenn., church, where he was pastor. Living in Waynesboro for the past 18 years, he had served the Waynesboro congregation for twelve years and had pastored the Hohenwald, Savannah, and Olive Hill churches at various times. He was local postmaster for fifteen years, retiring last October.

During his long ministry he had the unusual record of having attended the meetings of his Presbytery for 88 consecutive meetings without a break. His earlier pastorates included Fairfield and Lincoln, Ill., Bowling Green, Ky., Jackson, Tenn., and Evansville, Ind. He was a commissioner at the last General Assembly and was nominated as moderator.

He was a veteran of the Spanish-American War, a member of the Waynesboro Masonic lodge, and a member of the executive committee of the National League of Postmasters.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Cora Galloway; three daughters, Mrs. A. E. Neas and Mrs. Howard Morris of Waynesboro, and Mrs.R. W. Wilcox of Jackson, Tenn.; a son, Charles E. Galloway of Waynesboro; a sister, Mrs. Frank J. Martin of Carmi, Ill.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
