Your committee is of the opinion that there are great possibilities before Bro. Forsythe and his usefulness is in a measure in the hands of this Presbytery.

We also assign him a test John 3:16 from which to prepare a brief written discourse to be read in open Presbytery at its next session.

Rev. J. M. Forsythe, Tennessee

"And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, blessed are the dead which die in the Lord, from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labors; and their works do follow them."

The above scripture seems to fit the passing of one of our beloved ministers, Rev. J. M. Forsythe of Hohenwald, Tennessee. I had known him intimately since he became a minister. He was one of the best, conscientious men I have ever had association with. He was very sincere, energetic, seeking always after the lost and the salvation of their souls. Brother Forsythe was a God-called preacher and preached what he believed the blessed Word of God taught, reproving and rebuking all sin.

Besides being a good minister of the gospel, he was a splendid father and one of our best citizens.

We do not think of him as being dead--only living in that blessed, happy condition where God has prepared for His people a place of rest, where his loved ones and great hosts of friends expect to meet him in the sweet by and by.

Knowing their great loss, his precious wife and children have our love, prayers, and sympathy. May God bless and keep you all. We shall pray, in a very special way, for the boy who is in the service of our country.
        --W. S. Marshall
