Comments and reflections: "The first eleven years of my ministry, I barbered, and preached . . . I had no way to get to my appointments, but ride a bus as far as I could then walk the rest of the way, which would be several miles. I would leave home on Sunday morning before daylight, and would get back home on Monday about noon. Most of the time I wouldn't get to see my children from Saturday night when I would go home for supper, until I would come home on Monday. I have always loved the Cumberland Presbyterian Church. My prayer is for my church and its ministry."
