
Chaplain Cleetis C. Clemens, 57, died June 4, following a heart attack in Martinsburg, Virginia. He had retired last year after serving 20 years in the U.S. Army as a chaplain and had become the chaplain of the Veteran's Administration Hospital at Martinsburg.
He was a graduate of Bethel College and the Cumberland Presbyterian Theological Seminary.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Georgia Clemens, one son, and three daughters, and four grandchildren.
The funeral was held June 7 in Springfield, Virginia, and burial was in Arlington National Cemetery with full military rites.
While he was stationed in Japan in his chaplaincy work he helped
to organized the first of the present Cumberland Presbyterian
missions there.
