Rev. William Douglas Fuller, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. James Fuller was born October 8, 1907 in Cherokee County, Texas. This useful and untiring life came to a close on March 3, 1983 in Tyler, Texas.
He was reared in the Rock Hill community where he attended church and public school.
At an early age he confessed hope in Christ and united with the Rock Hill Presbyterian Church where he remained a loyal member and minister until death.
He began his ministry in 1960 and pastored the Mt. Zion Presbyterian Church, Rock Hill Presbyterian Church and the Pleasant Holly Presbyterian Church. He was Moderator of the Angelina Presbytery for several years.
He was active in Civic affairs in his community and served on the Lake Striker Water Board and was the bus driver for the Senior Citizens.
He was united in Holy Matrimony with Miss Lucille Rhimes, and to this union six children were born. She and one son preceded him in death.
Later he was united in Holy Matrimony with Miss Jessie Mae Thompson and to this union no children were born.
He was a devoted husband and a loving father who was always concerned about the welfare of his family.
He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Mrs. Jessie Mae Fuller,
Jacksonville, Texas; four sons, Lee Douglas Fuller, Tyler, Texas;
Howard Fuller and Rev. James Fuller, Jacksonville, Texas; Wilbert
Spencer, Dallas, Texas; six daughters, Mrs. Mattie B. Williams,
Tyler, Texas; Mrs. Ella Mae Sessions, Crandall, Texas; Mrs. Delores
Scott, Dallas, Texas; Mrs. Joyce Dewberry, Miss Patricia Spencer
and Miss Billie Spencer, all of Jacksonville, Texas; one brother,
Mr. Enoch Fuller, Clovis, New Mexico; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Brown,
Dallas, Texas; Mrs. Missouri Johnson, Tyler, Texas; forty-two
grandchildren, forty-two great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews
and many relatives and friends.
